SAPSASA Netball

On the 4th of September the Year 6/7 girl’s knockout netball team played in the SAPSASA semi-final Netball game against McLaren Flat. We had an away game playing at McLaren Flat. The year 7’s got there first and went on the playground. It was very cold and it had recently rained so the courts and the playground were all wet. After, we did some warming up, including passing. When the year 6’s arrived we started too properly warm up which included stretching, passing and the shooters practicing some shots.

The first quarter was quite close but unfortunately McLaren Flat were just ahead. When the whistle went, Holly got a penalty shot from a fair distance away and got it in! At quarter time we had a pep talk with the coach, Fiona (Ebony’s mum) and gained a bit of confidence. The second quarter went well but we were still behind. The court was wet and very slippery! By the third quarter we had all lost hope because we were very far behind in the scores. In the fourth quarter we didn’t give up and in the end the final scores were 11-38 McLaren Flat’s way. After the game both teams shook hands and cheered together.

Unfortunately this does mean that we have been knocked out of the SAPSASA competition.
