Room 15 – Mrs Lane

Welcome back to Term 2!!!
I hope all families had a nice break just chilling out together. It was great to see most students back on Monday, with a couple more arriving on Tuesday. As always it will be a busy term, we will be sure to keep you up to date on our classroom blog .

Kitchen Lesson

Yesterday (Monday the 23rd March 2020) we enjoyed a modified kitchen lesson. Sheena-Margot prepared a great challenge for our class to participate in. She organised 5 stations each with a different activity to help the students reinforce knowledge and skills learnt in our kitchen classes. The students rotated around each station to complete the activity. The activity stations were:

  1. peeling potatoes and cutting using 3 different techniques (bear claw, tunnel and rock and chop).
  2. identifying  different herbs.
  3. identifying fruit and vegetables from a picture and Who am I clues.
  4. Setting the table correctly and folding napkins (following written directions).
  5. Kitchen Quiz

Each group was awarded points for each activity and Sheena-Margot then used the points to identify the winning group. Blue group (Jordan Brown, James, Sienna, Caleb and Cooper) was our overall winner, but all groups worked well together sharing their knowledge.

Aquatics 2020
